Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s
In very simple terms what this means is that by understanding each of the three elements within this approach, it is possible to effect change, enhance performance, overcome fears and limiting beliefs and continually learn/master more effective strategies that will enable you overcome obstacles and maintain a healthy mental health whilst reaching your goals and dreams.
NEURO refers to the mind, the thought processes we use, how we store our memories, how we choose to remember them, how we allocate emotions to them and how our mind uses them to keep us protected and safe.
LINGUISTIC is about examining the language and language structure we use. Our communication and the impact this has on our conclusions and subsequent reactions/response to any given situation or experience.
PROGRAMMING addresses the patterns and sequences of actions we use both consciously and unconsciously – often as a direct result of previous experience and history.
